Santura engineering can provide with metal and wire mesh, K & C bars, S anchors and curls anchors, along with variety of accessories are also available in variety of lengths. They are mainly bought by oil companies. Refractories can be installed downhand, in severe service conditions or applications where refractory cannot be installed downhand, a closer spacing should be considered. Santura engineering also provides hexagonal Mesh, which can be supplied with strong double clenched joining system. An older style, using independent rivets to join the hex together is also available. Hexmetal is manufactured in depths of 19mm, 25mm or 50mm.

There are 2 different types of hexmesh.

1) L type mesh – this style has lance tabs protruding from the walls of the hexagonal cell to act as anchorage for the refractory.

2) H type mesh – instead of lance tabs, holes are punched through the walls of the hexmetal cell. Refractory can then flow through these holes to achieve a bond from one cell to another.

Except for 19mm hexmetal, all hexmetal is available for offset or stepped type construction. The stepped type hexmetal has a shorter depth rib joining the full depth rib. Whilst both ribs are flush at the top surface, the shorter rib forms a gap on the back face. This gap at the back of the hexmetal allows the refractory to flow through it and hence creates a strong refractory bond between adjoining cells.

Types of L type mesh are:

• 25mm Stepped hex with every alternate rib 19mm
• 25mm Stepped hex with 1 Rib x 25mm
• 50mm Stepped hex with every alternate rib 25mm
• 50mm Stepped hex with 1 Rib x 50mm

Single component anchors such were introduced to the market in the 80's and 90's. These anchoring systems offer flexibility in the layout and allow users to install mesh anchoring without the problems associated with hex such as forming and cutting. Often where access is limited, single component anchoring systems are the only option available. Below Single components are used for quick shipment.

C Bar Anchor

The C bar anchor is an alternative to hexmesh, combining the reinforcing elements of the submerged vee anchor, flow-thru locking, and the holding power of the hexmesh is an independent, one piece anchor. C bar anchor is made as a reinforcement for thin/single resistant linings. They are hand weldable refractory anchor fabricated from 14 gauge stainless steel bar. They act as a submerged anchor, they have large slots which allow locking of the refractory concrete, the space below the anchor allows the refractory to flow below for additional locking and the multiple welding feet allow secure welding.

Comparison between hexmesh and C bar

• They act independently, which decreases catastrophic failure.
