Installation

Step 1

Templates are used to mark out the position of the studs on a clean steel blasted or ground surface. The pattern configuration can be any of 3 recommended patterns, engineered to fit any shape or form depending on the location and severity of the erosion.

Step 2

The studs are welded into place using the latest state of the arc stud welding technology developed in house by Santura.

Step 3

The ferrules are removed.

Step 4

A backup layer of 3 or 6 mm ceramic fibre paper can be applied when cold wall constructions are used. This drastically reduces the temperature gradient at the casing often equivalent to 75mm of light weight refractory, commonly used with Hex metal.

Step 5

The SpeedCells® are placed onto the studs and locked down with a self-tightening screw. A gap is left under the SpeedCell® to allow for the refractory material.

Step 6

The refractory is firstly pushed under the SpeedCells® with finger until area below the SpeedCell® is completely filled. More refractory is subsequently packed around the SpeedCell® with a wooden tool and into the SpeedCell® from the top. When sufficient material has been placed into an area of approx. 0.25 sq. meters (2.5 sq. ft.) with such compactness that all the air has been removed, a trowel is used to level the material with the top of the SpeedCell®.
