Refractory Anchor Coding System

Ordering the right types of refractory anchors or studs is easy with the SILICON encoding system. Each item has its own unique code which consists of several elements.

Typical codes are built up, such as: TYPE.Diameter(D)-Length(L)-Alloy type

• Diameter and Length are in millimeters
• Alloy type is according to international standards, AISI, or Werkstoff

For example: STP.6-225-330

• STP indicates the type of refractory anchor
• The diameter of the anchor is 6 mm
• The length of the anchor is 225 mm
• The anchor should be made of AISI 330

Some refractory anchors have slightly different codes. They may have several elements in the length-part to indicate, for instance, different lengths of the anchor to the step or with a stud the length of the threaded part. For specific ways of encoding we refer to the specific refractory anchor or stud.
